ARTISTSherry Millard

I am a self-taught artist. After a 42-year absence from painting, I picked up my brushes and began using acrylic paints. Later, I started to dabble with watercolors as well as sketching with charcoal and pastels.
Having a profound love of nature, it has found its way into most of my paintings and other creations. My amateur skills with photography allow me to capture beautiful flowers in my perennial garden.
In 2005 I began making jewelry. I love making earrings and bracelets using natural stone and glass beads.
My interest in the re-purposing of things has found driftwood, old windows and discarded wooden furniture being used in some of my creations. Driftwood pieces large and small can be used for paintings of most anything in nature. Lately, I have been using glass mosaics in my creations. A small glass mosaic scene is inserted into the driftwood and is used to compliment the painted portion of my piece. Another new interest of mine is using shards of glass to create an entire scene on old windows.
